SKEMA's 2022: events, awards and news

The year 2022 was so rich in important events and news, that it was a must to summarise them in the last web article of the year.

30 YEARS OF SKEMA 

Let's start with the company's birthday. On 30 June, Skema officially celebrated its first 30 years with the SKEMA30 event at its headquarters in Ponte di Piave, in the province of Treviso. The day was packed with training and celebration moments, with speeches by invited speakers, founder Domenico Barabas and CEO Nicola De Menis, and with the awarding of the SKEMA30 sculpture to all those people who have been an active part of the company's success.

SKEMA DEBUTS AT SALONE DEL MOBILE IN MILAN

For the first time, Skema participated with its own stand at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, the world's most important event dedicated to interior design. In the S.Project area we brought the constellation of SKEMA products capable of conquering three-dimensional space and exploring a new portion of the interior design universe, with three themes at the centre of the narrative: Acoustic Wellbeing, Environmental Consciousness and Modularity that Furnishes.

SUPERFACES RIMINI

For the second consecutive year, SKEMA participated in Superfaces in Rimini, with its solutions for the hospitality sector. The stand was a multi-sensory journey through surfaces that evolve and can be transformed into furnishing solutions for hotels, restaurants, bars and all public places dedicated to hospitality. Protagonists were the world of SONORA, Lumbertech also in S700 format, Lumbertech Modular, Star.K, Star.Wood and Marina Pacto.

LUMBERTECH MODULAR

2022 is the year when Lumbertech Modular saw the light, the innovative systemic project born from Lumbertech engineered wood, a furnishing solution designed for the contract world - and not only - that gives expressive freedom with low environmental impact. Designed by architect Franco Driusso, Modular exploits the Lumbertech stave that becomes a modular unit and gives life to furnishings for environments: bookcases, equipped walls with concealed cabling, hotel rooms, bathrooms, and again, benches, tables, and counters.

PRESS REVIEW

2022 also saw a lot of excitement in the world of print media, with many articles and focuses dedicated to SKEMA products.

STAR.WOOD WAS BORN

The other new entry for 2022 is Star.Wood, the first SPC+Wood hybrid floor.
A floor that brings together nature and technology, exploiting all the technical qualities of SPC - practical, resistant, thin - with the natural beauty of the wood surface and with an eye on sustainability, thanks to the lower use of raw materials.

TRAINING EVENTS

like every year, our commitment to training has brought SKEMA's most experienced representatives to speak in front of many audiences, from the events organised by AIPPL, to the well-established Infoprogetto formats, and the accredited meetings for professionals, organised by the individual associations in cooperation with our partners throughout Italy. Each time was an opportunity to meet professionals and experts in the sector with whom we shared all the latest news on sustainable design, acoustic well-being, laying systems and innovative products, such as Star.Wood and Lumbertech.

YLES TARSIA WON THE ADA

The last part of the year also brought SKEMA the prestigious Archiproducts Design Awards. Yles Tarsia Carbo, SKEMAidea's wooden floor designed by architect Franco Driusso, won the prestigious Archiproducts Design Award 2022 for the Finishes category.
